The RVS unit is equipped with a motor
actuator with controller having been set
in the factory according to the maximum
and minimum air volumes specified by
the customer. By means of the actuator,
the air flow volume is kept constant and
can be varied optionally during the use,
within the control range.

Operating principle of the RVS variable volume controller
The main components of the RVS unit are the closing plate
performing the actual regulation of air volume, the measuring
bridge measuring the volume of airflow which sends a signal to
actuator to regulate the air volume. Between both measuring tu-
bes positioned on the measuring bridge, a pressure difference
proportionate to the air velocity will be measured. By linking this
value to the signal processing unit, the comparison between the
measured pressure value and the set pressure value operates
the actuator which will rotate the closing plate until the measu-
red pressure value is equal to the set pressure value. The actua-
tors are, in the course of the manufacturing process, calibrated
to the maximum and minimum air volumes specified in the or-
der. Calibrating an actuator may only be carried out for a measu-
red size and by means of a special device; the operator cannot
adjust it on the installation site, this may only be performed by
the factory’s service staff. Due to this, we can only manufacture
such units, which are accompanied with complete data supply,
being identical with the models provided by us herein and equip-
ped with the motors applied by us as standard.

Execution
The RVS air volume controller units are available in 9 sizes. The
standard design is made of galvanized steel sheets and the
cylindrical casing is equipped with a seal ring with a view to pro-
viding opportunity for quick and airtight installation. The special
seal ring that can be found on the rim of the closing plate, in
totally closed position, can provide a practically tight closing. If
so required, the RVS unit is also available in a sound-attenuated
version RVR (50mm thickness).

Application range
Air volumes that can be regulated by means of RVS type VAV
units (1 to 10 [m/s]) and total pressure drop with totally opened
closing plate.

Installation
With a view to provide precise operation, the volume regulator
must be installed after a straight duct which is at least as long
as the diameter of the unit. They require no maintenance.
